Welcome 2012!

Whew, what a whirlwind of a year 2011 was!  More positive than negative by far but as I look back the months were filled with so much growing and change.  It almost makes my head spin!  

New Years is always a time to get back on track, reflect on what you would like to do differently, what you would like to keep the same.  I'm not sure if there hasn't been a year in the past decade that January wasn't a time to take off the extra pounds of stressful sugary eating that December brought on.  I would like to say I didn't over indulge but I did.  The older I get the more it seems to effect me.  Feeling toxic and bloated, poor digestion, liver over load!  Needless to say I am feeling a bit 'stuffed' at the moment.

Clean eating here I come!  Its almost a relief when January comes along and there are no more social parties on the schedule. (at least for a while)

Along with eating clean for the next little while I am also going to be doing something else, and that is detoxing my mind.  

Huh?  How do you do that?

Well, Let me explain.  I recently read an article on giving thanks.  (No Turkey involved!)  
On a daily basis as you wake think of how thankful you are for what you have in your life.  First thoughts, simple things.  

Most mornings I wake and think of what I have to do.  My mental list of morning routines, time constraints, how I'm going to get from point 'A' to point 'B'.  The majority of my thought patterns is on what I 'should' be doing instead of what I have accomplished and have brought into my life.  

So, this morning is day 1 for me.  Funny thing is, as I was laying on my pillow waiting for my body and mind to connect and get me out of bed my thought was how thankful I was to have such a cozy bed.  
It sort of snowballed from there.  My bed in my house, in a beautiful community.  A place where my family is safe and well supported.  For the people in my life, and it goes on and on and on.  Keep track for 40 days of doing the same thing and see how your life changes around you.  

If you look for negative things in life, negative things are what will surround you.  If you look for positive the same will follow.

I'll keep you updated with my progress.
